A Pear Shaped Vertical Splash Head Adapter is used in distillation assemblies to prevent liquid carry-over caused by bumping or vigorous boiling. The pear-shaped expansion chamber provides additional space for vapours, allowing entrained liquid droplets to condense and return to the boiling flask while permitting the vapour to pass into the condenser. This improves separation efficiency, protects the condenser from contamination, and minimises sample loss.
